Our American Metal Pressed Number Plate is made to fit the 12 x 6 inch (305mm x 152mm) plate recess found on US-market cars, trucks and SUVs. Instead of a 520mm UK plate hanging over the edges, you get a pressed aluminium plate that sits flush in the original recess and lines up with the factory fixings.
Each plate is pressed from aluminium with raised, embossed characters and finished with 3M reflective material. It's made to order in our Gloucester workshop and available as a road-legal plate or a show plate.
Road legal on imported vehicles
UK law allows smaller characters on imported vehicles that don't have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval and whose plate area is too small for a standard UK plate. Most US-spec vehicles qualify. These plates use the legal import character size (64mm high) in the Charles Wright font, and carry the British Standard mark and our supplier name and postcode.
Two lines only: to fit a 12 x 6 plate at the legal character size, your registration is set out over two lines. We can't put a registration or word on a single line across the middle.

What you'll need
We're a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, so for road-legal plates we need proof of your name and address (such as a driving licence) and proof you're entitled to the registration (such as your V5C, V750 or V379 temporary registration certificate).

Bought a set of USA sized pressed metal plates for my Dad’s Mustang for his birthday, he’s really pleased with the quality, and they look great on the car with his new private reg that we gifted to him. The fact that you can get the American style metal plates but using the uk format for legality in the UK was a huge plus for me! Once I have sent over the correct forms they were delivered swiftly and in great condition too. Would definitely use again.
Easy to order, quick delivery and exactly what I wanted and expected. They fit neatly inside my US plate frames and look as close as legally possible to American plates. The only improvement would be if they were pre-drilled so they could be bolted straight on.

I love these plates. They look amazing on the car, and fit the plate frame I was envisioning perfectly. Unfortunately, the front plate arrived damaged but I'd already drilled the holes at that point before realizing. Otherwise the rest and the rear plate came pristine with that "new plate smell"

There are our digits / letters on the top line and three on the bottom. They are left aligned, which looks silly. Naturally they should be centre aligned. Not happy.

I needed to get a new set of road legal American sized 6x12 reflective plates for my car. I contacted Chase Lane Plates on a Friday to discuss what I wanted, the lady said that if I placed my order before 12:00 that day, I would receive them on the Monday after the weekend. They arrived on Monday as described.
