These plates do not comply with DVLA requirements for legal registration numbers and must not be fitted to any vehicle being driven on public roads.
It is illegal to use fake number plates or non-compliant registrations on a vehicle. Decorative plates should only be used for display purposes such as exhibitions, showrooms, garages, events, signage, or private collections.

Our Japanese novelty plates are the exception: they are ready-made designs, sold exactly as shown, and can’t be personalised.
Novelty plates and show plates are often used interchangeably. Both are designed for display purposes rather than road use and can be customised with unique registration numbers, messages, colours, and layouts. They are commonly used at exhibitions, car shows, garages, and showrooms.
Absolutely. Novelty number plates make a fantastic gift for birthdays, special occasions, and celebrations. Whether you're creating a personalised plate for a friend, family member, or car enthusiast, a custom plate is a fun and memorable way to bring a smile to their face.
At Chase Lane Plates, we offer a range of decorative number plate options, including acrylic plates and metal plates. Each material provides a different appearance and finish, allowing you to choose the perfect style to suit your display, signage, or collection.
You may request a decorative plate featuring a registration number for display purposes. However, novelty number plates cannot be used to represent an official registration on a vehicle, nor can they replace legally issued registration numbers assigned through the DVLA.
Ordering is simple. Use our online number plate builder to customise your design, select your preferred material, choose your colours and layout, then place your order. Our manufacture process ensures your custom plate is produced to a high standard before being dispatched.
Yes. Many businesses purchase novelty number plates for promotional signage, showroom displays, exhibitions, reception areas, and marketing campaigns. Custom plates offer a unique and creative way to showcase a business name, brand message, or promotional image while helping attract attention and turn heads.
No. Because novelty number plates are intended for decorative and display purposes only, you do not need to provide proof of identity, proof of entitlement, V5C documents, or other registration certificates when placing your order.
Unlike road legal number plates, novelty plates are not linked to a vehicle registration and cannot be assigned to a vehicle through the DVLA. This makes the purchase process quick and straightforward, allowing you to create a custom plate for display, signage, gifts, exhibitions, showrooms, or personal collections without additional documentation requirements.
