Our 6-Digit Metal Pressed Number Plate measures 420mm x 111mm, 100mm shorter than a standard UK plate. It's made for registrations with six characters or fewer, giving a neater, tighter fit with no large empty space at each end.
Shorter plates are popular on cars with narrow plate recesses, classic and sports cars, and on private registrations that look lost on a full-size plate.
Is a shorter plate road legal?
Yes, as long as the registration still uses the legal character size, spacing and margins. A 420mm plate gives enough room for most registrations of up to six characters at full legal size. If yours is longer, choose our standard 520mm metal pressed plate. Not sure? Send us your registration and we'll check it fits.

Why pressed metal?
Pressed plates have raised characters you can feel, giving a classic, premium look that printed acrylic plates can't match. They also flex rather than crack if they take a knock.
What you'll need
We're a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, so for road-legal plates we need proof of your name and address and proof you're entitled to the registration, such as your V5C logbook. Order by 12:30pm, Monday to Friday, and choose next-day delivery at checkout.

Arrived promptly and absolutely superb. Very pleased. The 6 digit plate size makes a world of difference with no excess white and yellow either side of the plate.

Great quality plate, only issue is they sent the wrong size! Ordered a 6 digit 420mm plate and a 520mm standard plate showed up. Oops! Thankfully I emailed them and within a day a new 420mm plate was on the way.

Just perfect
Plate’s OK, but not great. Not packaged so well so arrived scuffed. First set were sent wrong (wrong reg!) Prior order was ‘lost’, and took 7 days longer than advertised to arrive. Had to phone a number of times to chase. Plates arrived scuffed and print / black was patchy.
